Estate Planning Webinar

Estate Planning is about empowering people to make their own
choices about their future and the future of their loved ones. The
following are the most common reasons people decide to create an
estate plan:

- Avoiding Probate
- Minimization of Taxes
- Avoiding Chaos for Your Loved Ones
- Protecting your Beneficiaries
- Protecting your Assets

Join Lindsey McKay, CFP®, CSSCS and Andrew Lee, CFP®, CSSCS with
McKay Wealth Management, and Jerrica Pierson Seeger, Attorney at
Law, with Des Moines Elder Law, PLLC for a discussion on the specific
issues regarding estate planning that should be addressed. Financial,
family, employment, and economic status, as well as specific goals for
asset protection, incapacity planning, tax planning, or special needs,
are all factors which are considered when crafting an estate plan.

Debt Ceiling 2.0

A few months ago, we featured a blog on the debt ceiling. To recap,
the debt ceiling is a cap on the amount of new debt that the Treasury
Department can issue to meet its obligations – that is, money that has
already been spent or appropriated. Where are we now? Click here

Staying Savvy on Scams: Identity Theft

According to the FBI, Americans 60 and older lost $1.7 billion to fraud
in 2021. Unfortunately, these numbers are only expected to rise.

In the coming months, we’ll be working on putting out articles on
various scams and frauds going on so that you and your loved ones
can be in the know.

This month, however, we’re going to focus on the worst case – what
to do if your identity is stolen. Click Here to find out more.

Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, marking the day when
slavery came to an end in the United States. The observance of this
holiday, formally recognized by the state of Texas in 1980, has
continued to spread to the rest of the country and beyond. On this
day, we have an opportunity to affirm once more the universal right
to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for every human being.

We hope that you will reflect with us on how far we have come, how
far we have yet to go, and how we can continue to advance the cause
of freedom and justice across our communities and around the
world.
